Long ago, when things were not as plentiful as they are today, people used to treat the things they used preciously and with care. Many of those things were high in quality and made by hand. When I received a pair of eyeglass frames that belonged to my grandmother, I was struck how rare it was to see something so excellently designed these days.
In this age when we have and consume vast amounts of things, I felt that I wanted to make things that contained the warmth of the people who handmade them, things that we could feel the value of, things that we would want to use everyday. It takes time and money to make things. The things that I want to make cannot be realized without the tight-knit collaboration between designers and craftspeople. Furthermore, those craftspeople need to be of the highest level. Nothing would make me happier than if you all could feel the gentleness that comes from nature and the joy that is embodied in these current designs.
